CalcPT

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2026-04-19

CalcPT, LLC (“CalcPT,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share personal information when you use CalcPT. It applies to visitors worldwide, including residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and California. CalcPT is currently offered free of charge and does not require an account.

1. What We Collect

We collect only what we need to run the Service:

  • Bug-report submissions:when you click “Report a calculation error” on a calculator, we receive what you type into that form, the email you provide, your IP address (used for spam rate-limiting), and a snapshot of the calculator inputs you chose to send. The form refuses to submit text that pattern-matches common patient identifiers (names, MRNs, dates of birth) before it ever leaves your browser.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, and coarse-grained request logs used for security, abuse prevention, and debugging.

2. What We Do Not Collect

CalcPT calculator tools run entirely in your browser. Patient-identifiable data and clinical inputs you enter into a calculator are never transmitted to our servers and are not retained by us. We do not receive, store, or process protected health information (PHI). We do not require an account, do not collect email addresses outside of optional bug reports, and do not process payments.

3. How We Use Information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
  • To investigate and respond to bug reports you submit.
  • To monitor for abuse and security threats.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

4. Third-Party Processors

We rely on a small set of processors under written data-processing agreements. Each processor sees only the minimum information necessary for its role:

  • Supabase— database storage for bug-report submissions.
  • Resend— transactional email used to notify the operator about new bug reports.
  • Vercel— application hosting, edge delivery, and request logs.

5. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

If you are in the EEA or UK, we process your personal data on the following legal bases: (a) performance of a contract (providing the Service); (b) our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service; (c) compliance with legal obligations; and (d) your consent, where required.

6. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. California residents may request information about our disclosures under the CCPA and may opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information — CalcPT does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise any right, email legal@calcpt.com. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.

7. International Transfers

We are based in the United States, and our processors may store and process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards for cross-border transfers.

8. Data Retention

Bug-report submissions are retained for as long as needed to investigate and resolve the underlying issue, then deleted. Hosting and edge logs (IP address, request path, user agent) are retained by our hosting provider for a short operational window for security and debugging, then deleted or anonymized.

9. Security

We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, least-privilege access, and regular review of our processors. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced through the Service or by email.

12. Contact

Privacy questions or requests may be sent to legal@calcpt.com.
